Wife of Benjamin Rhames and mother of Francis Rhames.
Succeeded the business of her husband Benjamin.
Listed in the Dublin Directories (from 1777) as 'music seller and haberdasher'.
Succeeded in business by her son Francis on her death in 1778. He carried on the business in her name until 1806 after which he used his own name. The Dublin Directories list 'Elizabeth Rhames' until 1786.
[Details differ according to sources: Dix gives the dates as 1776 to 1789. Boydell (Calendar) gives the dates as 1775 to 1806. Humphries & Smith and Munter give the dates as 1775 to 1778. Note: the publisher on the Urbani publication is given as 'Mrs Rhimes'. Lawrence gives the publisher of The Devonshire Minuet erroneously as B. Rhames.]
