Son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Rhames.
Succeeded the business of his mother after her death in 1778. He carried on the business in his mother's name until 1806 after which he used his own name.
In the Dublin Directory of 1809 he is referred to as 'Frederick [sic] Rhames, music seller and haberdasher'.
Succeeded in business by Paul Alday in 1809 (Munter).
