1762–1784
Great Booter Lane, 1762?–74
9 Great Booter Lane, 1775
9 Bishop Street, 1776–82
Described in the Dublin Directories as an 'organ builder and harpsichord maker'.
[Details differ according to sources. Graham gives the dates as 1770 to 1784. Teahan lists two Rothers: Henry 'maker of organs, chamber organs, double and single upright harpsichords, spinets, theorbos, violoncellos' (1762–63) and Henry William 'organ and harpsichord maker' (1770–82). They are assumed here to be the same. Doyle refers to 'Willar Henry, Organ builder and harpsichord maker, Great Booter Lane', active in 1770. This is assumed to be Rother. Note: the addresses listed all represent the same premises: street numbers were introduced here in 1775, and in 1776 Great Booter Lane was renamed Bishop Street.]
