Presumed father or grandfather of Samuel Lee (ii).

Munter states that Samuel Lee was a bookseller and printer in London from 1677 to 1693. In 1693 he came to Dublin, having been driven out of London by other stationers because of his bad practices.

Munter makes no mention of music publications, the only reference being by Flood who wrote 'Samuel Lee, of Skinner Row, may have printed some music in the years 1695–99, but none of it can now be traced'. However, Samuel Lee died in 1694 (Pollard).
