Fitzgerald printed various ballads, speeches, etc., particularly to street hawkers, but it is not certain if these included music. In 1722 he was 'bound over to appear at the Quarter-Sessions of the City ... for Printing and Selling a Seditious Ballad for which 2 Men for Singing them with Roguish Additions are now in Newgate' (Whalley's News-Letter, 14 March 1722, cited in Munter).
