According to Flood, 'in 1515 the Earl [of Kildare] presented a hackney to his 'organ-builder'. This Irish organ-builder was none other than James Dempsey.'

Flood does not infer any Dublin connection, but the proximity of Kildare to Dublin suggests that Dempsey may have worked in Dublin.
