Cowlan, Michael

Dates Active in Dublin:

1817–1823

Address(es):
Details:

Brother of James Cowlan (Cowlan).

[Dates and addresses differ according to sources: the Dublin Directories give 33 Lower Sackville Street in 1822 and 6 Essex Quay in 1823. Boydell gives 4 Essex Quay and stated that he died c. 1821 but Waterhouse notes that he was active in Manchester as a woodwind instrument-maker from before 1835 to after 1844. An advertisement in the Liverpool Mercury on 10 October 1817 (cited in Cowlan) announces Cowlan’s ‘commencement of business’ at 8 Basnett Street, Liverpool, providing a second address of 9 Arran Quay, Dublin.]
